New York City just elected a communist muslim immigrant for their new mayor. Largely because of the massive number of foreign-born residents there (over 37%), which begs the question...should immigrants to this country be allowed to hold public office?
They can't be president because the founding fathers didn't want someone who had allegiances to a foreign country to be in a position of power. (They must be a natural born citizen, remember?)
But they neglected to foresee the same thing would happen in other offices, like Congress (Ilhan Omar) and mayors (now Zohran Mamdani) in New York, not to mention other offices like governor, and even city councils and school boards.
We know that a shocking number of legal immigrants don't assimilate, and aren't interested in being Americans, supporting our traditions or values. Many come here to exploit our country, to undermine everything that our country was built on, and to change it for the benefit of others in their same ethnic group (again, Ilhan Omar and Mamdani just to name a few).
So why do we forbid people who weren't born here from being the President, but allow them to hold every other public office which wields power and influence over our country, communities, and culture?
Probably too late to change that now. But a major oversight of the founding fathers and the early Americans.

Details aren't clear yet, he may have been concealed carrying (legally?) and during the struggle agents saw the weapon in his waist, one alerted the other agents, gun! and then a moment after he was disarmed by one agent, another agent opened fire due to the ongoing struggle and not knowing the suspect had by that time been disarmed, so expect things to get more tense.
